When you are the daughter of the fifth richest man in the world (Amancio Ortega, founder and owner of the Inditex group which includes Zara, Massimo Dutti, Oysho …), our marriage must be grandiose. On Friday November 16, Marta Ortega therefore said “sí” to Carlos Torretta, model agent and son of fashion designer Roberto Torretta, during a discreet ceremony at the family home in Galicia, followed by a cocktail at the Royal Yacht Club of La Coruña. For the rest of the festivities, the newlyweds invited their 400 or so guests the next day, including Jessica Springsteen, Athina Onassis and Sofia Sanchez de Betak, to join them at the very chic Casa Novas equestrian center.
A tailor-made haute couture dress
For what the Spaniards call “the wedding of the year”, the 34-year-old didn’t skimp on details and surprises. Also, it’s not one but four outfits that the mother of a 5 year old boy, born from a previous union, wore on D-Day and the next day. And here, no Zara pieces as she is used to wearing. Regarding her wedding dress, the one who works as a design consultant at Zara Women, had indeed called on Pierpaolo Piccioli, artistic director of the house of Valentino, to make her a tailor-made haute couture creation.

Marked waist, straight skirt with pockets, high collar, the wedding dress had been chosen in a very pale pink shade for this fine fashion connoisseur. “Through this creation, I wanted to convey an unusual romanticism, filled with lightness, freshness and with the intention of illustrating his strong personality,” the Italian designer told the magazine. Hello!. “I wanted it to be as light as the bride’s aura – not just a dress, but something that would convey the magic of the moment.” As we can see on the signed photos of Peter Lindbergh (just that), on the accessories side, Marta Ortega had opted for a very long veil held in place by a wreath, a subtle reminder of her bouquet of dried flowers.
A line-up of choice
After the ceremony, the young woman changed to wear a black pantsuit set also signed Valentino, matched with a transparent blouse and pumps with straps. A less conventional outfit for the cocktail given in their honor at Real Club Náutico. Like any dream wedding, the festivities continued the next day and Marta Ortega obviously had a new outfit, a new white backless dress in fluid silk and sequined details, as we can see on social networks.
To liven up the evening, the bride and groom called on top artists and made the dreams of many couples come true; for their first dance, it is indeed the leader of the group Coldplay, Chris Martin, who sang his very romantic title Yellow. The guests were also able to applaud Norah Jones, Mark Ronson or the jazzman Jamie Cullum. Around four in the morning, she changed her outfit once again to appear on Pierpaolo Piccioli’s arm in a pale pink haute couture Valentino dress. On the gastronomic side, the dinner was led by chef Albert Adrià (brother of the famous Ferran of the late El Bulli restaurant) and the wedding cake was the work of French Cédric Grolet. Cock-a-doodle Doo ! The wedding of the year, we told you.
