The Council of Fashion Designers of America, led by Tom Ford, has announced the winners of the annual CFDA Awards 2020, which is commonly called the Oscars in the fashion world. This year’s winners include Kim Jones and Pierpaolo Piccioli.
The designer Kim Jones, who heads the Dior Men and Fendi brands, is recognized as the best designer of men’s collections. Valentino’s creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli received the award as the best designer of women’s collections this year among the world representatives of the fashion industry.
In the Best American Designer category, awards went to Pyer Moss founder Kirby Jean-Raymond for the design of menswear and Gabriele Hearst, who heads personal brand Gabriela Hearst for the design of womenswear.
The Breakthrough of the Year nomination went to Christopher John Rogers, founder of Christopher John Rogers, whose fans include Rihanna, Ashley Graham and Michelle Obama. By the way, Christopher has already become the winner of the CFDA in 2019.
The designer Telfar Clemens received the award for the best accessory design from the collections of his Telfar brand.
