1,000 new cases of coronavirus per day
Since July 19, wearing a mask in closed public places has been mandatory in order to fight against the increase in cases of coronavirus. This particularly concerns bars, restaurants and supermarkets. Regarding the wearing of a mask in public outdoor areas, the decision rests with the prefects of the departments.
According to a statement released by the Directorate General of Health (DGS), on August 3, 384 patients were hospitalized in the intensive care units. In less than 24 hours, 29 people affected by severe forms of Covid-19 were taken care of and placed on artificial respiration.
During the weekend of July 30, around 3,376 patients affected by Covid-19 were screened. In the space of three days, 1,125 patients were infected on average for one day. At the moment, nearly 5,198 individuals are infected with the virus. In its report, the DGS recalled the importance of avoiding large gatherings and “focus on small groups, equip yourself with masks for the general public and gels hydroalcooliques.”
