Velvet dressing gowns and embroidered loafers: Dolce & Gabbana Alta Sartoria show took place in Florence

The world is gradually beginning to recover from the pandemic, so everyone involved in the fashion industry is looking forward to new shows – and the designers do not disappoint anyone.

In Florence, at the Pitti Uomo men’s fashion show, the Dolce & Gabbana couture collection was shown. Before the show online, viewers could see the exhibition-presentation of high jewelry art – it featured jewelry created by Florentine craftsmen.

The huge luxurious hall of the Palazzo Vecchio was chosen as the place for the show, and the whole show fully corresponded to the Renaissance – the catwalk for models was made in the shape of a lily – the main symbol of the era and of Florence itself. The show opened with the speech of the mayor and longtime friend of the Dolce & Gabbana brand, Monica Bellucci.

The collection itself fully reflects the cultural code of Florence – prints in the form of the coat of arms and frescoes of the Italian painter Giorgio Vasari are collected on the clothes of the models. Jacquard trousers, linen shirts, embroidery on handmade fabric – the collection looks more like a piece of art.

Luxurious velvet robes with semi-precious stones and embroidered crystals became a distinctive feature of the show: the designers are sure that soon these robes will replace capes, raincoats and coats. The designers have not forgotten about the details – embroidered loafers, baskets with fruits and flowers in the hands of models, and books instead of clutches – be careful and you will find many interesting details. The collection is clearly intended for men who want to feel like heroes of the New Renaissance.
