Vera Wang wedding collections have always differed from the rest – both in the manner of presentation, and in styles, and in the color palette. So the designer dedicated her new collection to the sun king – Louis XIV. The famous dandy and trendsetter of the 17th century, the French monarch made a strong impression on the designer – Vera Wong calls him “the first rock star in the history of fashion”, and in every model she tries to convey at least a particle of that distant era.
References to Versailles are visible to the naked eye – crowns on the heads of brides, high frill collars, trains on dresses that look like royal robes, puffy sleeves, tulle skirts, “gilding” in the form of embroidery, lace, frills and flounces.
The main color of the Vera Wang fall 2019 collection of wedding dresses is nude, but the designer has not forgotten about “something blue” either – this is evidenced by an empire-style tulle dress.
